The Royals have arrived in Tonga!
With Tonga leading news headlines this whole week from the aftermath of the MMT vs Kangaroos Rugby League test, the Royal visit to Tonga couldn’t come at a more special time.
Prince Harry and wife Meghan were greeted earlier today on arrival by Tongan Princess Angelika Latufuipeka.
Meghan looked stunning as she stepped off the plane in the country’s national colour, wearing a red long-sleeved dress by Self-Portrait with flora embroidery, complimented by simple black heels and a black clutch.
Tonight the Duke and Duchess of Sussex looked relaxed as they arrived at the Consular House in central Nuku’alofa for a state dinner with His Majesty King Tupou VI and Queen Nanasipau.
A pregnant Meghan looked radiant in a long white gown by New York designer Theia.
As Pacific Royal fans follow the Royal Tour with interest and the more fashion-loving fans watching Meghan’s wardrobe, memories of Prince William and wife Kate’s 2012 Royal Pacific tour spring to mind.
The Duchess of Cambridge stunned Cook Island’s designer Ellena Tavioni of fashion label TAV when the princess wore one of her designs at an official engagement in the Solomon Islands.
Tavioni told the NZ Herald that she had no idea Kate would actually wear the dress she gifted especially as she hadn’t put much thought into the gift.
“If I knew she was going to wear it I would have tried a bit harder because I just took it off the rack right where I was standing,” she said.
Tavioni was instantly inundated with hundreds of orders from around the world for the design which she fondly names ‘The Kate Dress’.
