Riverdale’s Samoan star KJ Apa thrills fans in Melbourne
Riverdale’s resident heartthrob and Samoan-Kiwi actor KJ Apa visited Melbourne in the weekend, meeting thrilled fans at the Oz Comic-Con convention.
The star was in town to discuss all things Riverdale.
KJ looking relaxed and casual in jeans, sneakers and fashionable specs took plenty of selfies with fans…and a koala.
The rising star whose Samoan family come from Moata’a village, snapped his experienced and posted it for his 8 million instagram followers.
Recently KJ opened up about his relationship with on-screen girlfriend Camila Mendes (Veronica Lodge) responding to rumours that the pair are dating.
“It’s weird with someone you don’t know that well,” KJ told press recently.
“On a movie set, you have time to get to know the person and rehearse before shooting. Camila and I just had to dive into it. Now that we’re friends, it’s easier.”
He adds that dating in the U.S is on a whole new level.
“Guys in the States are a lot more confident than guys in New Zealand,” he explains.
“There, if you go out with your mates, you all hang with one another because you’re too scared to talk to the girls. Being in the U.S. has made me way more confident.”
And apparently the Kiwi accent also helps.
“Having a New Zealand accent increases your chances by like 50 percent,” he laughs.
Riverdale, one of the highest rating new shows in the U.S has been renewed for a third season.
