Pacific International Runway is the annual fashion event of the year in Sydney. Although only in it’s second year running, six new designers were added to the exciting line up. This year’s event was another full house – and an increasing amount of media interest with a small ‘paparazzi’ forming in the media pit.
The room was filled with some of Australia’s most notable fashion bloggers, gorgeous models, top Pacific designers and a couple of celebs were spotted – it truly was a beautiful and glamorous event complete with red carpet and all.
The outfits displayed by each attendee proved that many were out to make a statement! Whether you were a model, or a guest, an impressive array colours and designs were out in force.
The diversity of the audience including first-time attendees, many who were non-Pasifika were the most impressed. It was clear that PIR was much much bigger than just being ‘Pacific’. And it’s not just about catering to ‘our people’ but rather looking at a bigger picture: an objective is to get Pasifika designers out there in the mainstream.
PIR has no limitations, no exclusions. They truly have a vision of bringing ‘Pasifika Fashion’ and making it ‘Fashion for all!’
